Visiting Thailand: 5 Must Visit Areas

[ 0 ] June 25, 2013 |

Thailand is one of the most beautiful and exciting places to visit in the world. It’s popular for luxury lovers who want nothing less than the very best hotels in Bangkok, great service and amazing dining experiences (dinner at the top of Lebua Hotel is a must try experience). For adventure seekers, there’s a whole world to explore and for party animals, the islands and beaches offer a fantastic place to meet new people and enjoy a constant party atmosphere (Full Moon party is not to be missed).

Here are 5 must visit areas for anyone who is new to Thailand. If you are visiting this wonderful country soon, make sure you head to these 5 places:

  1. Bangkok – the capital is a must see and there’s just no escaping the wonderful hustle and bustle once you’re in the city. It’s an interesting mix of tall skyscrapers, luxury and boutique hotels with fantastic roof top restaurants, an eye opening red light district and lady boy bars, the beautiful Chao Phraya river which is still a main mode of transportation for city dwellers, stunning wats and temples and a busy street / night market culture with lots of amazing food experiences waiting for you.
  2. Koh Samui – Koh Samui is a popular part of Thailand for people travelling in groups or lone travellers. Here you will meet so many new people and if you stay in hostels, there will be a great social aspect to make sure you’re never alone in your travels. Find beautiful beaches including Silver Beach, Lamai Beach and Chaweng Beach, and other attractions such as Thai wats, waterparks and stunning national parks. For holiday deals, go to Best at Thailand – visit Koh Samui.
  3. Koh Phangan – this is a key travel destination for many young travellers, with a famous Full Moon Party which brings together people from all over the world to celebrate the full moon late into the early morning on a beautiful beach.
  4. Phuket – Phuket is known all around the world for its party capital of Patong, but many people don’t realise that different regions of Phuket offer something different, perfect for different types of travellers. Western Phuket offers beaches, some more untouched than others and central Phuket offers some undiscovered areas that are rarely visited by tourists.
  5. Chiang Mai – this is the largest city in Northern Thailand and has recently become much more modern and also a hot destination for travellers, holiday makers and tourists.
